World population…

A few days ago, the population of the world reached 8 billion. When I was born, in 1958, it was 2.9 bn.

The carrying capacity of the Earth is thought to be around 1.5 bn, which we reached around 1885. Since then, we have been depleting its resources.

Deaths, largely due to disease and famine, will rise to meet the birth rate around 2070 when there will be around 9.4 bn inhabitants.

The Royal British Legion commemorates the Military victims of war, and supports serving and ex-serving personnel and their families.
The purple poppy has long been used to commemorate the animals that also served. they had no choice.
Since 1933, the PPU white poppy has commemorated ALL victims of war and highlighted the human cost of war and promoted the pursuit of peace instead of militarism.
