My best advice is to get something like the Fuji XT-30, or the Fuji X-E3 with a 27mm lens, and learn the essentials. As you do so, be prepared to experiment with other body forms of camera from the same brand (another reason to choose Fuji to begin with as they have all the standard types – compact, range-finder, DSLR, etc) because just as important as the make and shape of camera is how it feels in your hands. Once you have a good grasp of the basics, it is a lot easier to swap to a different brand – most of the learning curve is then just in the layout of the controls and the menu structure.
